Deborah Quek
Speech Therapist
Deborah is fully registered Speech and Language Therapist under the Allied Health Professionals Council in Singapore. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Speech Pathology) from Curtin University (Western Australia), and has clinical experience in Singapore and Australia with the adult and paediatric population in different settings; such as schools, private clinics, home therapies, hospital and community settings.
Deborah has a strong commitment to delivering evidence-based practice and working collaboratively with clients and their caregivers to empower them towards achieving their speech and communication goals. She desires to educate parents on effective techniques to communicate with their children, while enabling them to have fun in the process and build strong bonds. Engaging in a play based approach allows her to be curious about each client as they interact in their own unique way, to form a strong therapeutic relationship. Her interests lie in the areas of paediatric speech and language, literacy and special needs.
She is able to converse in both English and Mandarin, which supports her ability to provide intervention in either language, as well as provide caregiver training to families with bilingual backgrounds.
